What is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai originated in Thailand where it was nicknamed the art of eight limbs as it allows punching, kicking, elbow and knee techniques. It is widely recognised as the most efficient stand up Martial Art making it ideal for beginners due to its simplicity. It is also typically the art of choice for Mixed Martial Arts fighters.

Muay Thai is a fantastic way to get fit as it’s a whole-body workout which develops explosive power and cardiovascular fitness, it’s also an extremely efficient self defence system. We run Muay Thai classes for Adults, children and a non-contact ladies only class.

Dorchester Muay Thai is affiliated to The Phraya Pichai Muay Thai association and regularly hosts head instructor Bob Spour for seminars and gradings.

The First Step...

Beginners Course

Our beginners course is an exciting introduction to CrossFit and can be taken in our popular group course or via 121 training. Our primary goal during these sessions is to give you the fitness base, skills and knowledge to safely join our group classes.

During these beginner sessions, you will learn how to safely and efficiently perform all the barbell, kettlebell and bodyweight movements found in our classes while under the supervision of one of our expert coaches. You’ll also learn the underlying theory behind our programming, nutrition and recovery strategies.
