Savate Kickboxing also known as boxe française, is a light contact martial art which combines punches and kicks with evasive footwork. The aim of Savate is to use footwork to get in a position to strike your opponent and then move out of range before they can counter.
Savate is the only style of Kickboxing in which practitioners wear boxing boots, this makes it ideal for self defence as you learn how to use the shoe as a weapon. Savate also has a structured grading syllabus so members can track their progress.
The dynamic movement of Savate makes it ideal for people who are looking to loose weight and improve their fitness while learning an authentic martial art. Dorchester Savate is a member of the Great British Savate Federation and has access to all seminars and competitions for those looking to take their Savate training to the next level.

About Savage Kickboxing
Savate, like most Martial Arts did not start out as a sport, but was a form of self-defense used on the streets of Paris and Marseille. This style of Savate was known as “Savate de Rue” and would use the entire body as a weapon. This system of Savate is very devastating and uses the principles of linear movement, penetrating power, piercing strikes, and fast almost blinding speed. This system has no boundaries.
